OXIDATIVE BALANCE IN BRAIN AFTER CHRONIC EXPOSURE TO ARSENIC
نویسندگان
چکیده
The effect of chronic As exposure in brain, the specific oxidants production and oxidative stress still needs more attention. In present study, male wistar rats were chronically exposed to bythe drinking water during 60 days. receiving a dose 10 mg As/l showed 9- 18-fold increase content blood respectively, as compared control group. Histopathological changes detected brain samples isolated from animals treated with Asas animals. oxidation rate 2ʹ,7ʹ-Dichlorofluorescein diacetate (DCFH-DA) no significant after treatment. A (13%) steady state concentration ascorbyl radical (A•) was determined 50 As/l. lipid (LR•) generation malondialdehyde (MDA) increased by 34% 32%, respectively ascorbate (AH-) not affected As.However, glutathione (GSH) lipophilic antioxidant α-tocopherol (α-T), significantly decreased supplementation, brains. A•/AH- ratio rat associated supplementation. Nevertheless, 44% 55% LR•/α-T MDA/α-T ratios, suggesting that imbalance cellular medium could be primarily membrane damage.

Analysis of Oxidative Stress in Chronic Exposure to Petroleum Hydrocarbons in Karnataka, India
Background:Several studies have reported the toxicological implications of inhalation of petroleum hydrocarbon fumes in animal models. But, there is certainly little or no documentation of the exposure to petroleum hydrocarbon fuel on oxidative stress levels in humans, unlike the pulmonary physiology. The present study was carried out to evaluate the effects of constituents of the hydrocarbon f...
متن کاملPathology related to chronic arsenic exposure.
Millions now suffer the effects of chronic arseniasis related to environmental arsenic exposure. The biological mechanisms responsible for arsenic-induced toxicity and especially chronic effects, including cancer, are not well known. The U.S. Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) is participating in an international research effort to improve this understanding by the development of the In...
متن کاملChronic Arsenic Exposure and Oxidative Stress: OGG1 Expression and Arsenic Exposure, Nail Selenium, and Skin Hyperkeratosis in Inner Mongolia
Arsenic, a human carcinogen, is known to induce oxidative damage to DNA. In this study we investigated oxidative stress and As exposure by determining gene expression of OGG1, which codes for an enzyme, 8-oxoguanine DNA glycosylase, involved in removing 8-oxoguanine in As-exposed individuals. Bayingnormen (Ba Men) residents in Inner Mongolia are chronically exposed to As via drinking water. Wat...
متن کاملChIP-Seq analysis of the adult male mouse brain after developmental exposure to arsenic
Exposure to the common environmental contaminant arsenic impacts the epigenetic landscape, including DNA methylation and histone modifications, of several cell types. Developmental arsenic exposure (DAE) increases acetylation and methylation of histone proteins and the protein expression of several chromatin-modifying enzymes in the dentate gyrus (DG) subregion of the adult male mouse brain [26...
